Abstract | The current research aimed to study astate and problems of professional learning community of schools under the secondary education service area office 1 and 2 in Bangkok. The research sample included 119 schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 1 and 2. The data was obtained from 276 school directors, Deputy Directors of Academic Affairs, heads of departments, and teachers. The data was calculated using frequency and percentage.The research result of the preparation phase which 1) The creating vision revealed that Mostly schools organized seminars about a PLC for teachers and school administrators. The most frequently problem was found that the administrators and teachers lack of knowledge about PLC. 2) The phase of planning, mostly schools assigned teams or working committees for a PLC. The most frequently problem was found that the teachers did not observe their colleges in order to study problems. 3) The phase of developing co-operative activities demonstrated that mostly, PLC participants organized activities and incorporated the curriculum in order to improve teaching procedures. The most frequently problem was found that teachers did not turn up in the PLC meetings.The implementation which 1) The phase of planning PLC. Mostly, schools adopted a teamwork system, in which the most frequent problem was found that teachers had too many responsibilities on their shoulders to work as a team. 2) The study of the exchange phase revealed that teachers were always exchange their experiences and leaning process of PLC knowledge participants and also discussions about their experiences with colleges. The most frequently problem was found that the administrators failed to regularly follow up the process. 3) The reflective phase and comments, the result that mostly teachers gained valuable experiences to improve their teaching. The most frequently problem was found that the schools did not attempt to supervise and follow up PLC.The assessment phase of a PLC, the result illustrated that mostly schools assessed demands and problems after using a PLC. The most frequently problem was found that the schools lack improvement of a PLC to be more effectively organized. |
