Abstract | The purpose of this research was to study the effects of the Volleyball with Pilates training program on the serving ability of lower secondary school students. The sample included 30 girls and boys in Grade 9 from a school in Bangkok selected by purposivesampling. They were divided into 2 groups; 15 students in the experimental group were trained with the Volleyball with Pilates training program, and 15 students in the control group were trained with a conventional training program. The research instruments were comprised of the Volleyball with Pilates training program on serving ability for 8 weeks, 3 times per week, 80 minutes per day. The evaluation of the ability of serving a volleyball consisted of 1) the Volleyball Serving Evaluation Form and 2) the AAHPERD serving test. The data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation and t-test. The research findings were as follows: 1) The mean scores of the volleyball serving ability test of the experimental student group after treatment were significantly higher than before at a .05 level. The mean scores of the volleyball serving ability of the control group after treatment were significantly higher than before at a .05 level. 2) The mean scores of the volleyball serving ability test of the experimental student group after treatment were significantly higher than the control group at a .05 level. |
