Abstract | The objectives were to study the state and element of Rap battle activity in Thailand between 2009 and 2017 as well as to analyze the factors that haveimpact on the promotion of self-esteem through Rap battle activities.Guidelines to increase the self-esteem through rap battle activity were also presented in addition. A questionnaire and an interview were given to 495 people including organizers, contestants, and audiences. The collected data wereanalyzed and presented in percentage, mean, standard deviation, and data interpretation. The study showed that after the Rap battle contestants were selected from online audition videos, they meet and participate in activities together at a place that the battles will be held. The facility is constantly expanded to support an increasing number of participants. In addition, the technologies used for judging and creating contents for the onlineadvertisement page are up to date. Most participants are male aged under 25 years old. Overall, they believed that they gainedself-esteem from Rap battles throughself-value regarding development in participating in what they value the most, while defendingwhat they value was regarded as the least important. An approach on the building of self-esteem through Rap battle activitiesfocusing on 3 main aspects, namely, the establishment and sustainment of an online community, proper advertisement, and establishing activities guidelinesthat support the development of self-esteem. |
