| Abstract | This research examined whether Alcaligenes faecalis No.4 paired with biological nutrient removal sludge could enhance treatment of airport wastewater. Four test conditions were compared: control, sludge only, bacteria alone, and both combined. The study measured pH, dissolved oxygen, suspended solids, and several organic compounds alongside BPA. Results showed that the combined application of A. faecalis No.4 and activated sludge achieved higher removal efficiencies for multiple pollutants compared to single treatments. Growth rates and biodegradation constants indicated enhanced performance when both microorganisms were used together, suggesting potential for full-scale wastewater treatment applications. |
