| Abstract | Candida albicans accounts for approximately 70% of fungal infections globally and causes mucosal and systemic infections. This research evaluated the anticandidal activity of actinobacteria obtained from peat soils. Two isolates (11A3 and 41N6) demonstrated the strongest inhibitory effects, with identical minimum inhibitory concentrations of 3.125 mg/mL. Genetic analysis identified both isolates as Streptomyces species, showing the highest sequence similarity to Streptomyces marinus NBRC 12799T (99.54%) and Streptomyces malaysiense MUSC 136T (99.37%), respectively. The findings suggest actinobacteria hold significant therapeutic potential for biotechnology and pharmaceutical applications against drug-resistant fungal pathogens. |
