Abstract The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Thai dessert-making activities on preschool children’s social interaction in terms of group work, and to compare their social interaction before and after participating in the activities. This study employed a one-group pretest–posttest quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 25 preschool children aged 4–5 years, selected by cluster random sampling. The research instruments included Thai dessert-making activity plans and an observation form for social interaction in group work. Data were analyzed using a dependent sample t-test.The results indicated that the preschool children’s social interaction in group work after participating in the Thai dessert-making activities was significantly higher than before participation at the .05 level. The findings demonstrate that Thai dessert-making activities can effectively promote preschool children’s social interaction in group work.
