Abstract This research article aims to study (1) the building of a political bastion (2) the social and cultural factors and (3) the process and strategies in the political communication of the members of the House of Representatives in the northeastern region affecting the success under investigation from 2001 to 2019. The technique of qualitative research was employed. Data were collected using the techniques of documentary research and in-depth interview with eight qualified persons.Findings are as follows: Factors and the political strategies of the Members of the House of Representatives in the northeastern region affecting the success in winning five consecutive general elections from 2001 to 2019 including (1) The building of a political bastion, including having a strong financial status and approach those having the rights to vote through the support activities or the provision of the support to the communities. The political success at a local and national level correlated with constant performance; and policies responding to the needs of the members of the general public. (2) Social and cultural factors, including the building of social networks, relatives and the patronage system consanguinity with tight connections. (3) The process and strategies in the political communication, including communication planning, communication operations, an evaluation of the communication with the members of the general public, creation of activities, building relationship, and fostering an awareness, as well as the strategies of building the political bastion at a local and national level with the focus on the access and response to the needs of the local residents.
