Abstract This research aimed to analyze learning processes to promote public mindedness of volunteer groups. The area of study comprised the following foundations: 1) the volunteer groups of the Shalem House, Emergency Home; 2)the Office of Child protection, the Church of Christ in Thailand; 3)the Youth Division of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Thailand; and 4) the Social Departmentofthe Archdiocese of Bangkok. Both a questionnaire and in-depth interview were used to collect data. Mean and content analysis were used to analyze the data. The research results revealed that promotion of public mindedness of volunteer groups consists of 4 processes: 1) responding to current social situations that occur (M = 4.06), where the highest mean score was ‘to respect others’ (M= 4.37);2) determining methods to enhance public consciousness (M = 4.17), where the highest mean score was ‘realize the importance of having a working network between volunteer groups’ (M= 4.28); 3) the process to promote public mindedness (M = 3.88), where the highest mean score was ‘their interest in participating in social-problem-solving activities’ (M =3.98); and 4) changing after joining the activity (M = 4.17), where the highest mean score was ‘aware of the importance of public consciousness’ (M= 4.22). It was found that family was the primary factor that affected volunteers to develop public mindedness. Furthermore, it was found that public consciousness should be primarily promoted among youths. Finally, the study identified that whilepublishing theglobal trends via social media could be both positive factors and threats, it could not be denied that social media plays an important role in the process of developing public mindedness.
