Abstract | The research purpose was to study the state and problems of instructional supervision in schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 1 in the 2nd group. The population used in this study was comprised of 90 people including academic administrators, heads of subject areas and supervising teachers. The research tool was a checklist questionnaire. The analysis of the data used a software package. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency and percentage. The research found that: 1) The preparation of the instructional supervision, the supervising committee, and the academic staff consisted of the heads of subject areas and those who have had significant experience in teaching. Their function is to conduct classroom observation, teaching problem-based planning, pre-supervision seminars, and lesson plan preparation. The supervision instruments were qualitative and quantitative observation instruments. The main problem of this aspect was an inappropriate time schedule. 2) For instructional supervision, the technique used was classroom observation which was used to collect information on teaching methodology. Schools supported this endeavor by giving advice and followed up with providing observation records and verbal feedback. The problem of this aspect was discontinuous supervision. 3) The evaluation of the instructional supervision committee evaluated the processes of instructional supervision by using the teaching observation instruments. The problem of this aspect was not using the result of the evaluation to improve instructional supervision. |
