| Abstract | The objectives of this research were to 1) examine the level of people's decision in Prachin Buri province to choose political parties, 2) analyze the factors affecting people's decision in Prachin Buri province to choose political parties in the general election, and 3) propose the guidelines for decision on people in Prachin Buri province in choosing political parties in the general election.This research methodology was mixed methods. The conceptual framework used in this research was applied from the concepts and theories of the concepts of Sombat Chanthrawong, Wisutthi Phothan, Kwanhathai Chaemchaeng, and Natthakorn Wititthanon. The population consisted of residents aged 18 years and older living in Prachinburi province, totaling 495,325 people. The sample size was determined using Krejcie and Morgan's table, resulting in a sample of 384 people. For the qualitative research, interviewees were conducted with 5 local politicians, 5 civil servants, and 5 community leaders, totaling 15 people. The research instruments were a Likert type 5- rating scale questionnaire and an interview form. The qualitative data were analyzed and summarized by using the content analysis. Statistics used in this research were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression.The research findings revealed that: 1) The overall decision-making level of the people in Prachinburi Province when choosing a political party was high. When considering individual aspects, three aspects were at a high level, while one was at a moderate level. The highest average was found in the aspect of political parties and party leaders, followed by the qualifications of candidates, the image of political parties, and the aspect at a moderate level was policy. 2) The analysis of factors influencing the decision-making of the people in Prachinburi Province in choosing a political party in the general election found that three factors—benefits or rewards, personal relationships with candidates, and the qualifications of vote canvassers—together predicted the decision-making of the people in Prachinburi Province in choosing a political party in the general election with 71.8% accuracy, at a statistically significant level of .05. 3) The approach to decision-making for the people of Prachinburi Province in choosing a political party in the general election should emphasize implementing awareness campaigns to change public perceptions through election education and political engagement activities to enhance public participation. |
