| Abstract | Theravada Buddhism is one of the major sects of Buddhism, playing a major role in Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia. Theravada Buddhist teachings focus on preserving the original principles found in the Tipitaka, which is considered the purest source of teachings and the basis of the practice for the cessation of suffering and attainment of Nirvana. |
