| Abstract | Social media plays a significant role in shaping the social identity of Thai youth in the present day through processes such as self-presentation, social comparison, and the influence of influencers and societal trends. Youth can express their identity through posts, images, and videos on various platforms, which can have both positive and negative effects on their self-satisfaction. Social comparison with others on social media can lead to feelings of inferiority and depression if it occurs in a negative way. Additionally, mimicking behaviors and values from influencers can influence youth behavior and ideas, such as language use and beauty standards, as well as lead to changes in social values. Therefore, social media has a profound impact on shaping the identity of Thai youth in the digital age. |
