| Abstract | This research aims to study the dimensions that highlight undeveloped public spaces and the types of activities that align with the users, to propose design guidelines that enhance the potential of these spaces and serve as a database for designing and developing public spaces for Songkhla Municipality in the future. This study employs a mixed-methods research approach, gathering both quantitative and qualitative data, along with an initial survey of the physical characteristics of public open spaces using Google Earth maps. A purposive sampling method was used to collect data from a sample group of 200 individuals to obtain information about undeveloped public spaces and activity patterns. The study results indicate that there are two undeveloped public spaces with potential to support activities for residents in the Songkhla Municipality area: The open space in front of the Songkhla National Museum and the Khlong Khwang open space. The design concept focuses on universal design to allow all groups of individuals to participate equally in activities, featuring a landscape that is harmoniously integrated with the environment. It is crucial to consider allowing all groups of individuals to participate in expressing their opinions as an important aspect of the design process. |
