| Abstract | This research aimed to study the current status and problems of digital citizenship skills of Grade 9 students in Phichit Province. The research instruments were questionnaires and interview questions. The population consisted of Mathayom 3 students from three large schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office, Phichit Province: Taphan Hin School, Phichit Pittayakhom School, and Bang Mun Nak Bhum Wittayakhom School.The research procedure consisted of two steps: 1) quantitative data collection, with a sample of 291 students selected by random sampling according to the formula of Krejcie and Morgan (1970). Data were collected using questionnaires. 2) qualitative data collection, with a sample of 6 participants providing data through interviews. Data were collected using an interview form. Quantitative data were analyzed using percentages, means, and standard deviations, while qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis.The research results were as follows:The results of step 1 found that the current status and problems of digital citizenship skills of Grade 9 students in the three schools in Phichit Province were at a moderate level.The results of step 2 found that students currently use social media in their daily lives and are able to apply technology in teaching and learning. However, learners still lack the skills to analyze information, ensure cyber safety, distinguish individuals with deceptive intentions or those seeking benefits, show empathy toward others online, express appropriate opinions on social media, exercise self-control, and consider the impact of their actions on others. |
