Abstract This research aimed to examine the characteristics of part-time work and the factors affecting the part-time work of regular employees in Narathiwat Province, using a case study. Using data from a questionnaire, a sample of 400 respondents was selected. The statistics used for analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square analysis, and multiple regression and logistic regression analyses. The results of the study found that regular employees who worked part-time had an average working hour of 7.58 hours per day, an average working day of 5.7 days per week, and an average hourly income of 288.67 baht. The types of part-time work were mostly sales work, followed by service work, academic work, and other work, respectively, which were statistically significant at 0.05.The factors, including gender, marital status, occupation, expenses, and debt, had a statistically significant effect on the part-time work of regular employees at the 0.05 level. Therefore, government and private agencies should promote training in supplementary vocational skills that are consistent with the needs of regular employees, including providing knowledge on time management skills and financial planning. So that regular employees could work part-time appropriately without affecting the efficiency of their regular work.
