| Abstract | Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation, boasts immense tourism potential. However, catering to Muslim tourists requires more than just halal food options. This paper proposes a comprehensive approach to tourism development in Indonesia, grounded in Islamic values of hospitality (ihsan) and respect (adab). It examines how these principles can be integrated into every aspect of the tourist experience, from accommodation and activities to cultural understanding and environmental stewardship. The paper explores strategies for staff training, infrastructure development, and destination marketing that cater to Muslim travelers' religious needs and cultural sensitivities. By embracing Islamic values, Indonesia can create a unique and thriving tourism industry that caters to both Muslim and non-Muslim visitors, fostering intercultural dialogue and sustainable development. |
