Abstract Many students entering hospitality undergraduate program have a wide range of academic, epistemological beliefs learning styles and motivation. This poses an additional challenge to teaching staff as to how best to address students' learning behavior and cognitive processes in relation to appropriate instruction. Students' learning styles are dictated by how students perceived knowledge, particularly the meta-cognitive components (Personal epistemology) to perform in college. Nevertheless, studies have shown that students' self-efficacy (perceived ability) has a mediating effects in this relationship. Hence, the purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between personal epistemology and learning styles mediated by self- efficacy. Data collection was carried out at the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management, UiTM. The instruments were administered during regular scheduled courses. Structural equation modeling (SEM) technique was employed to assess relationships among manifest (i.e., observed) and latent variables. Data were analyzed at the p<.05 level of significance.
